Designing with large-format surfaces
How larger formats can create visual continuity while keeping installation decisions intentional.
Large-format surfaces can make a room feel calmer by reducing visual interruptions. They are especially effective where the design direction calls for long, quiet planes across floors, walls, or furniture.
The best results come from planning early. Confirm the setting out, access, substrate, edge details, and transition points before the final format is selected.
When the technical plan supports the design intent, a large slab or 600x1200 tile can become more than a product choice: it can define the rhythm of the whole space.
